Henry C. Harrison - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Henry Harrison founded American Security in 1975 after retiring from the South Carolina Highway Patrol. He was named State Trooper of the Year in 1967. Since founding American Services, Harrison has been actively involved in working on behalf of the law enforcement community, serves on several local board of directors and is a supporter of numerous charitable organizations. His board positions have included positions with Summit Bank, Union Bank, Customized Companion Care, Herlong-Bates Insurance, Pacific Gateway Capital Group and Tri-County Technical College. He is also a member of the S.C. Sheriff's Association, American Legion (Post 3), Blue Ridge Electric Co-op, and Urban League. Former South Carolina Governor David Beasley awarded Mr. Harrison the Order of the Palmetto which is South Carolina's highest citizen award, for his work and contributions to the state.  

Randy Harrison, CHSO - President, American Security 

Randy joined American Security after a 25-year career with the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).  While at SLED, Randy investigated major crimes, from drug trafficking to murders and kidnapping. In addition, Randy served as Chairman of the SLED Private Security Advisory Board from 2007 to 2010. Randy was also assigned to the US Attorneys Organized Crime Drug Task Force, where he was deputized at various times by the FBI, DEA, and United States Marshal's Office. In 2006, Randy attended the Global Terrorism Conference in Washington DC. Furthermore, Randy was a Faculty Member of the SC Alcohol and Drug Commission Conference from 1987 through 1990.  He holds a CPI certification with the International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security.

Carole Ann has an extensive background in corporate operations with 27 years of management experience including 17 years in the security industry.  At American Services, she oversees the corporate services for all three divisions of the company, including Human Resources and Accounting.  Carole Ann is also an officer of the Board of Directors for American Services where she serves as Secretary.

Murray Fant - President, Midlands/Lowerstate SC District, American Services

Murray Fant - President, Midlands/Lowerstate SC District

Murray joined American Services with 27 years of law enforcement experience with the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).  During his SLED career, Murray served in a variety of roles including security for the state capital and state office complex, special agent and Supervisor for both the Narcotics Division and Intelligence Section and as Captain, Special Agent and Supervisor in Charge of Investigations for a ten-county area.  He also served as state representative to Interpol and a Bomb Technician.  After retiring from SLED, Murray joined American Security in 1999.  He serves on the board of directors for the National Safety Council, is a member of the South Carolina National Safety Council's Board of Directors, SLED Foundation Board, and the SLED Advisory Board for Security.  Murray is affiliated with the American Society of Industrial Security and holds licenses for Security and Private Investigations.

Ricky Pruitt - President, Upstate SC/NE GA District

Ricky came to American Services with 25 years of law enforcement experience including 13 years with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, where he was selected Trooper of the Year in 1985. Ricky also served twelve years with the SC State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) where he was an investigator for violent crimes, corruption, and narcotics cases - the last five years attached to the SC Attorneys General office. He also served as the Narcotics Investigative Supervisor coordinating Federal cases across the United States. Ricky was deputized by the FBI, DEA, and ATF on numerous occasions to provide assistance with major cases in the Southeastern United States. Ricky currently serves on the Criminal Justice Advisory Board for Tri-County Technical College.

Tyler Harrison - District Manager, American Security

Tyler Harrison - District Manager

Tyler has been with American Security for ten years.  Tyler is a licensed private investigator and has seven years experience in private security.  He has experience working several high-security sites, including Cliffs Communities, TD Bank, and Lockheed Martin.  He was a floor security supervisor for four presidential debates, including the Republican debates in Myrtle Beach and Greenville and the Democratic debates in Charleston and Columbia.  Tyler has his International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) certification and his concealed weapons permit.  He is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) and has undergone TACT training.  In 2006, Tyler worked security detail for the Chinese Vice Premier Madame Wu Yi's visit to Columbia, SC, and in 2008, he provided security for Tiger Woods' visit to a Cliffs gated community property in Black Mountain, SC, and has provided executive protection for Fortune 500 Top 5 CEO's.

Mike Gardner - President of Healthcare Security - CHPA, CEPS

Gardner joined American Security with 25 years of law enforcement experience with the South Carolina Highway Patrol. He was assistant agent in charge of the S.C. Governor's Executive Protection Detail and provided security on four continents. Gardner served as the Southeastern Vice President for the National Governor's Security Association (NGSA). Mike also served as the Dignitary Protection Instructor for the Highway Patrol Basic classes at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. He is the former Deputy Commander for the Highway Patrol's auto theft unit. During the last eight years of his state service Captain Gardner served as the Upstate Highway Patrol Commander. Mike is a graduate of the FBI Carolina Command College and has certificates from the Department of Homeland Security, the Institute of Police Technology & Management, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. Gardner is a recipient of the state's highest citizen award, "The Order of the Palmetto".  He received a "South Carolina Senate Resolution" and a "South Carolina Department of Public Safety Commendation" for his dedicated state service. He is a founding member of the South Carolina Chapter for the International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) and its first state Chairman. He is an IAHSS Senior Member and a Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) as well as a Certified TACT Instructor. Mike is also affiliated with the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS), the South Carolina Troopers Association (SCTA) and the American Association of State Troopers (AAST). 


Hunter West - District Manager, American Services

Hunter West - District Manager

Hunter joined American Services with 29 years of law enforcement experience and over 1000 hours of additional law enforcement training. A former native of Marion, SC, Hunter moved to Greenville in 1977 where he served as a Lieutenant with Greenville City Police Department, most recently security manager for local aircraft company. Hunter has a Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University; a Criminal Justice Associates Degree from Greenville Technical College; and is a graduate from the 171st session FBI National Academy, FBI Police Law Specialist School and Illinois State Police Academy Anti-Terrorism and Civil Disorder School. Hunter is an active member of the SC FBI National Academy Associates and SC Police Officers Association.

David Harrison - VP of Risk Analysis - CPP, CHSS-III, CPD, American Security

David Harrison - VP of Risk Analysis - CPP, CHSS-III, CPD, 

David brings a breadth of knowledge to the American Security team.  In addition to his advanced security training and certifications, David has over 22 years of military experience.  David's military experience includes active duty with the US Army, South Carolina Air National Guard and The Connecticut Air National Guard.  David is a veteran many of world-wide deployments including Operation Southern Watch and Operation Enduring Freedom.  David's Public Safety/Emergency response experience include service with the State of Connecticut Military Department at Bradley international Airport where he attained the rank of Lieutenant. David also spent 5 years at V.C. Summer Nuclear Station. David received his SWAT training while at V.C. Summer and was a member of the station weapons competition team as well as the Hurricane Response team with protective detail deployments after Hurricanes Hugo and Andrew.

David also holds certifications from The International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS). David is a member of The Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) Atlanta Chapter and a member of the South Carolina Chapter of INFRAGARD.  David recently completed Advanced Violence Threat Assessment training sponsored by ASIS International. David is the team leader and evaluator for Violence Threat Assessments and High Risk Terminations at American Security. David received his certified instructor designation from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) for Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training.

David conducts Vulnerability and Facility Threat Assessments across the southeast. David presents educational sessions on Work Place Violence (WPV) including Active Shooter situations for clients and for the American Security Officer Corps.  David earned a bachelor's degree from USC-Upstate and an Associate of Arts (AA) in Criminal Justice from Spartanburg Methodist College.

 
Joey Tucker - District Manager, American Services

Joey Tucker - District Manager

Joey came to American Services with 25 years of law enforcement experience with the South Carolina Highway Patrol where he served as First Sergeant with day-to-day responsibility for Patrol operations in Spartanburg County and as Assistant Troop Commander for Troop Three in Spartanburg County. He also served as Sergeant in Cherokee County with responsibility for day-to-day operations. As a Trooper, he was a member of the South Carolina Highway Patrol SWAT Team and served on the Drug Enforcement Administration task force in South Carolina. Joey was very involved with the South Carolina Boys State Program and represented the Highway Patrol. He is currently affiliated with the American Society of Industrial Security and the South Carolina Troopers Association.

Don Knight - District Manager, American Security

Don Knight - District Manager

Don came to American Security in October 2009 with 33 years of experience in Sales and Marketing. He received an Associates of Science Degree in Business Administration from North Greenville University in 1973 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Mars Hill University in 1975. While at Mars Hill University Don was a member of the Society for the Advancement of Management, the Business Honor Roll and the Dean's List. Don is a native of Greenville, SC and currently lives on Lake Secession in Abbeville, SC with his wife June. Don started his career with American Security as a Security Officer at an industrial site in Abbeville, SC. Shortly after he was transferred to Baptist Easley Hospital as a Hospital Security Officer and was later promoted to Shift Supervisor. Don is IAHSSO certified as an ACHSSO, as well as, certifications for TACT, the X26 Taser, First Aid, CPR and AED. In September 2013 Don was promoted to District Manager and manages sites in Greenville, Laurens and Newberry County. He currently holds a SLED Security Weapons Permit and a SLED Security Concealed Weapons Permit.

Margie Horton - District Manager, American Security

Margie was a former University of South Carolina student who majored in Psychology.  She joined American Security in 2008.  After working in the accounting department and sales she was moved into Operations for the Spartanburg Division. She currently holds a South Carolina Security Concealed Weapons Permit. Margie is a SLED Level I, II, and III certified instructor, American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED instructor, and TACT instructor. She oversees the hiring and day to day operations in her district ensuring the officers are in compliance with South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED). She is a member of American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) and International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS).

Kester Skinner - District Manager, American Security

Kester Skinner - District Manager

Kester retired from the United States Army in 1994, and joined American Security in 1996 as a security officer.  He was promoted to the role of District Manager in 1998 and is responsible for supervising 130+ officers.

Amy Snyder - District Manager, American Security

Amy Snyder - District Manager

 

Amy began her career with American Security in 2000 as an Office Manager and was promoted to District Manager in 2007.  She is a SLED Level I, II, and III certified trainer for security officers, and is a licensed security concealed weapons permit holder.  She is also a SLED Certified Concealed Weapons Instructor.  Amy also holds certifications in First Aid, CPR and AED.  She has been a member of ASIS (American Society for Industrial Security) since 2008 and is currently managing approximately 4,500 weekly hours of security. Amy has worked the 2008 and 2012 presidential debates and the 2010 SC Governors Gala.

Mieko Fox - President, Southwestern NC District

Mieko is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and began her career with American Security in 1995 overseeing the Human Resources Department. She spearheaded the opening of the Charlotte Division office in 1999 to support growth in North Carolina and is responsible for securing several long-term partnerships in North Carolina. Mieko returned to Greenville, SC to assist with the incorporation of American Security, ACI Janitorial and Action Staffing. She currently oversees Charlotte operations for all corporate divisions.

Carolyn Craven - President, Seneca District, American Security

 Carolyn Craven - President, Seneca District

Carolyn joined American Security in 2004.  She is certified by the state of South Carolina and holds a weapon permit and a concealed weapons permit.  Carolyn holds an Associate's Degree in Marketing.  Prior to joining American Security in 2004, Carolyn worked with IBM as a Marketing and Sales Manager for ten years.

Davy Lee - District Manager, American Security

Davy joined American Security in 2001 after serving as the Walhalla Recreation Director for 18 years.  Davy started out working Clemson football games and then progressed to site supervisor at Borg Warner before becoming a district manager responsible for sites ranging from Upstate South Carolina to Eastern Georgia.  Davy has contributed to the planning and successful execution of various events including 2 presidential debates.  In addition to his SLED training, Davy has also completed anti-terrorism training sponsored by the FBI and Homeland Security.

Creed Guilliams - President, Eastern NC/VA Districts, American Services

Creed Guilliams - President, Eastern NC/VA Districts

Creed joined American Services, Inc. after twenty- two years with the Virginia State Police and seventeen years in loss prevention and the retail sector.  While with the Virginia State Police, Creed worked narcotics in the Richmond, Petersburg, and Fredericksburg areas of Virginia.  In 1978, Creed was assigned to the Martinsville Henry County area where he now lives.  During this time, Creed worked various assignments with the Virginia State Police.  In 1978-1992, he was a canine trainer and handler doing regular patrol, tracking criminals, locating lost children and adults and other special assignments in southwest Virginia and the Tidewater area for crowd control.  As a canine handler, Creed was also instrumental in establishing the first canine unit in Henry County with the sheriff's department.  During the 1980's, Creed was assigned to the Williamsburg Presidential Summit, when Ronald Reagan was president, working with the secret service in providing protection for President Trudeau of Canada. From 1992-1995, Creed was assigned to the fugitive apprehension unit.  His duties included locating fugitives and ensuring their return to the various jurisdictions.  Creed retired from the Virginia State Police in 1996 as a senior trooper.

From 1997-2007, Creed worked for Walmart as a loss prevention district manager.  He later moved into operations and worked to the position of co-manager of a $110million supercenter.  He became store manager at Goody's.  From 2010-2015, Creed was store manager for Peebles, a division of Stage Stores.  As a store manager, Creed interviewed, hired, and trained associated many of whom went on to become managers.
